PUL3E is a women-led, charity-focused NFT project which was founded by Emilie after her partner Andrew was diagnosed with Heart Failure earlier this year at the age of 31.

tl;dr: tomorrow, 21 December 2021, at 21:00/9 PM UTC, PUL3E will launch on the Ethereum network and you can start minting beautiful, 3D animated, digital human hearts in support of heart failure research charities.

When Emilie Wright approached me with her vision for the PUL3E NFT, I was in! The vision was simple, clear, powerful, innovative, creative, and near and dear to my heart as I was diagnosed with heart failure four years ago in January.

What is PUL3E?

The non-fungible assets that PUL3E will mint are in support of fighting heart failure. The PUL3E is a collection of 7,676 randomly-generated NFTs that exist on the Ethereum blockchain. The designs are based on the human heart and have been created with animation 3D modeling. Each PUL3E NFT heart is unique like our own hearts based on a 3D model of the human heart and true-to-life ECG patterns, showcasing a range of heart conditions and abnormalities.

Minting NFTs for Heart Charities

PUL3E has pledged to donate 10% of all proceeds to heart charities should they sell 50-100% of their pieces, and 5% of all proceeds should they sell 0-50%.

Why Heart Failure?

last April, Andrew, Emilie’s partner, only 31, was diagnosed with severe heart failure and dilated cardiomyopathy, a disease of the heart muscle that stretches and thins (dilates) a ventricle so that it can't pump blood well.

In April 2021 , completely out of the blue, Andrew became very poorly very quickly, to the point where he was breathless, couldn’t eat properly, had pains all over his body, and was even struggling to do things like get dressed and walk down the stairs. He was quickly hospitalised and diagnosed with severe Heart Failure and Dilated Cardiomyopathy. At the age of 31 this came as a massive shock to everybody around him. After weeks of hospital visits, stays and recuperation, Andrew developed 2 blood clots, due to the impaired function of his heart and circulation, which needed further medical intervention. Since then, Andrew has been prescribed heavy doses of medication and life has changed significantly. He went through surgery to have a CRT-D (Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy-Defibrillator) fitted which has now taken over pacing his heart rate and rhythms, and will send out a shock if the defibrillator needs to kick in. Andrew has fought hard to get to a place where he is now stable for the time being, however he now has the difficult task of coming to terms with his diagnosis at such a young age. Andrew’s life has changed forever. We do not know what the future holds, however he has stayed so strong and this has been an inspiration to Emilie who has been by his side throughout. Emilie has been in the cryptocurrency and NFT space for a while, and the inspiration for this project came soon after Andrew was diagnosed.

My Heart Failure Story

I am a heart failure survivor, having gotten to the point of arrest and three minutes dead before I was revived and began the long road to recovery four years ago this January. While slowly recovering I have had to deal with recurring bouts of atrial fibrillation (afib) and tachycardia. While I have been cleared for biking, jogging, swinging kettlebells, and even spin class, that’s not the case with everyone. Even so, I will need a cardiologist and a cardiac electrophysiologic on my speed dial for the rest of my life.

0-50% Minted = PUL3E will donate 5% of all proceeds from the project to their chosen charities.
50-100% Minted = PUL3E will donate 10% of all proceeds from the project to their chosen charities.

In addition to this, PUL3E has mini-milestones throughout the minting process which also benefit the PUL3E community:

5% Minted: to reward early and eager supporters, 1 randomly-chosen minter will receive 1 ETH straight into the wallet they minted with.
10% Minted: another 1 randomly-chosen minter will receive 1 ETH straight into the wallet they minted with.

How do I get an NFT?

New to NFTs? No worries, here are some steps on what you need to do to get yours for the first time:

Download the metamask.io extension for browser or app on mobile. This will allow you to make purchases with Ethereum and can be found in the extensions tab. If you are on mobile, you must use the Metamask App Browser.
You can purchase Ethereum through the Metamask Wallet using Wyre or Send Ethereum from an exchange like Coinbase.
Click on Connect MetaMask at the top of the PUL3E website and connect your Metamask. Once joined, you will be able to purchase your PUL3E NFT in the mint section. You will be prompted to sign your transaction in Metamask, and will be charged a fee for each transaction according to Ethereum network gas prices.
Once you have made your purchase, your PUL3E NFTs will be viewable in your wallet and on OpenSea.
