# Indexing audit

A page Google will not index might as well not exist. The indexing audit establishes why Google is refusing your pages, proves the cause with evidence from your own data, and returns the fixes in the order to apply them. The fee is $750 flat, invoiced in advance, and the audit is the whole deliverable.

## What the audit examines
- **A full crawl of the site,** template by template: word counts, duplication, status codes, canonical choices, and the internal links each page type actually receives.
- **Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools diagnosis:** the Page indexing report grouped by cause and by template, crawl stats, and the dates the counts started moving.
- **The instructions your site hands to crawlers:** robots.txt, sitemap files, canonical tags, and internal linking, checked against the indexing you actually want.
- **A backlink audit:** the links pointing at the site sorted into genuine, irrelevant, and spam, with a disavow file prepared when the evidence supports one.
- **Structure for AI search:** how the important pages should be chunked and marked up so answer engines can read, understand, and cite them.

## What you get

The deliverable is a written report: the verdict on each problem found, the evidence behind it, and a prioritized fix list a developer can execute without booking a second opinion. Fixes carry copy-and-paste examples wherever a fix has a definite shape: titles, descriptions, robots rules, canonical choices, and schema blocks. Nothing in the report depends on hiring me for the next step, and if the honest finding is that a set of pages should be deleted, the report names the page types and the order to remove them in.

## Price and how it runs
1. **A short exchange** to confirm the site, the symptoms, and the access needed: Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, and read access to the repository on headless or flat-file sites.
2. **The invoice:** $750 flat, invoiced in advance. Work begins when the invoice is paid and the access lands.
3. **The audit itself,** delivered in writing within days of access, with a walkthrough of the findings for anyone who wants one.

Implementation of the fixes is separate work, quoted in writing after the audit for anyone who wants it. Many clients hand the report to their own developers, and the report is written to survive that handoff intact.

## The usual findings

Most indexing failures trace to a short list: pages that exist in thousands and differ in almost nothing, a template change that quietly emptied the rendered HTML, internal links that never reach the pages that matter, or a link profile spammed hard enough to make Google cautious about the whole domain. Each cause has a different fix and a different recovery clock, and treating one as another wastes months. The audit separates them on evidence before anyone touches the site. My [programmatic SEO guide](https://gerriscorp.com/guides/programmatic-seo/) shows the most common pattern in full: database-driven pages that Google crawls once and declines to keep.

## Common questions

### How long does the audit take?

Once payment and access land, days rather than weeks. The report arrives as one document. The clock that matters afterward is Google's recrawl, which nobody controls and which the report plans around.

### Does the audit include making the fixes?

No. The audit is diagnosis plus a fix list written for direct execution. Implementation is separate, quoted in writing before it starts, and entirely optional.

### Will a disavow file always be included?

Only when the link evidence supports one. Google ignores most obvious spam links without any help, so a disavow file ships when the pattern looks targeted or the volume makes the risk real, and the report explains the call either way.

### What if my pages are indexed but invisible?

Indexing and ranking are separate problems, and the audit says which one a site has. Pages that sit in the index without traffic point at content, links, or demand; the findings and the fix list follow whichever problem the evidence shows.
